Abstract
This paper describes a lesson designed to combine appreciation activities with expression activities, through which students are able to create original expression through art. I think that it is important for students to learn how to connect the theme to expression style in art. Student need to recognize the transition of expression style over time in artists works also. On this thesis I developed this lesson. In this lesson students first studied works by Monet on "Water Lilies". Students then painted landscapes in watercolors. Students were able to seek there own original expressions through this process.
