Abstract
This paper describes the concept and development of a design tool to create custom shape designs for various physical
equipment that interacts with a human, such as a computer mouse. The study proposed a customized parametric design tool
that can be easily gripped using hand feature data. The research included several steps. Data on the body characteristics were
used to perfect the form optimization system in parametric design (customized form design system). Data, such as
points/lines/planes on the palm, were used to generate an Arduino+Grasshopper tool suitable for the shape of the hand. A
design that would be easy to hold, easy to operate, and more precise to suit the characteristics of the hand was created.
Repeated testing was conducted to achieve digitization through detailed models. The fine model design method was
improved to achieve design efficiency (through the design of customized products, and development tools to improve the
customization process). The study outcomes support the design of hand-related products and products that consider physical
characteristic data.
