Abstract
This study develops cartoon characters that reflect the unique cultural identity of Phayao Province in Thailand. Five
characters were created to showcase the province's natural resources, local products, arts, traditions, and community
lifestyles. The research involved 100 students from the University of Phayao, who provided feedback on character sketches
as part of a ‘Storyboarding and Character Design’ course. To ensure authenticity, various methods were used, including
expert consultations, content analysis, field observations, and photography. This research highlights the role of cartoon
characters in promoting Phayao's cultural heritage and underscores their potential to enhance tourism and support cultural
preservation.
