Abstract

Acrylic resin-based adhesives are in general categorized into four types,‘two-liquid mixed redox curable reactant’,‘light irradiation cured type’,‘anaerobic curing type’ and‘ moisture curing type’. All of them contain monomers having acrylic groups as main components. Adhesive strength is developed by polymerizing them triggered by radical or anionic initiators. Many types of acrylic monomers are commercially available with variety of chemical structures. When we design adhesives, therefore there are various options which acrylic monomer to choose, such as‘ the methacryl group or the acryl group’, the structure and number of‘ functional group’,‘ rigidity’ and ‘polarity’. This high degree of freedom on designing adhesives is enabling to satisfy a variety of high-level requests suggested by customers in many industries.
