Abstract
Suitcases are widely prevalent, because the usage become diverse, the weight capacity is rising and the high-quality wheels enables us to pull with 2-wheel and push with 4-wheel. In Japan, as accidents with them in public facilities become social problems, it is recommended to pull them close to user's body in a crowd. Also, suitcase products with less physical load are desired because the aging population has been increased. With two prototypes, we estimated angles of gradient which users can easily grip handles when moving in each operational way mentioned above. We could reduce the number of parts and their costs. The modeling of the handle we made is also functional design as a pickup handle. This development, firstly for senior female, was proved to be well operable and load saving through our research.
