Development of the Niigata Prefecture bear haunting information map “Shingeki no Kuma" using automatic analysis technology

Abstract

In recent years, the number of black bears has been on the rise, and this system was developed as a tool to raise awareness among citizens of the causes of bear damage and how to prevent it. The system was designed to be intuitive and easy to use, and to raise awareness and understanding of the bear haunting information by implementing functions and interface design that promote temporal and spatial understanding of the three elements of “operation and display,” “understanding of haunt information,” and “understanding of bear’s motivation”. In this paper, we will introduce the design process, outline, use flow, and results of a usage evaluation survey.
