The present experiment was conducted to investigate the influence of post-treatment humidity on the irradiated rice weevil adult, Sitophilus zeamais MOTSCHULSKY. The relative humidity was regulated by the Zwolfer's method using H2O, NaCl and Ca(NO3)2 at four kinds of temperature ranging from 5°C to 35°C. Three different intensities of dosages by 60Co, 100, 000 R, 50, 000 R and 25, 000 R were used to irradiate the insects. The influence was examined in the individual level. That is, the survival rate (SR) or the average living days within a month after irradiation were calculated. The days attaining SR 50 or SR 5 were compared. The data obtained showed that the higher the relative humidity, the less the influence of irradiation became under any conditions of temperature and irradiation dosages tested and suggested that the influence of post-treatment humidity should not be overlooked on the irradiation to the rice weevil adult.
