Effect of high temperature on the multiplication of infectious flacherie virus(IFV) in the silkworm, Bombyx mori, was studied using the fluorescent antibody technique. The synthesis of IFV-antigen in the larva was inhabited at 37±1°C, which IFV-antigen was synthesized when the larvae were transfered to the lower temperature of 27°C. When the larvae were reared for 96 or 120 hr after virus inoculation at 27°C and then transfered to the temperature of 37±1°C, infectivity of the larvae and the number of "fluorescent cells" in the midgut decreased and also fluorescent intensity of the cell became fainter with the progress of time at the high temperature.
