Noise Level Detection in General Video

Abstract

Due to advances of imaging devices, prices of video cameras have become reasonable. Although cost of video shooting/editing was expensive, it has also become reasonable prices. It makes cut the cost of security cameras and the market of it is expanding every year. In contrast even though the advances, noise is an essential issue of videos. It is conspicuous when the videos are shot under poor lighting conditions. Nose degrades the video quality. Although it is impossible to remove noise completely, noise reducer, a signal processing, can reduce the noise in the video. However, it is necessary to detect the accurate noise levels in the video for the noise reducer to work effectively. In this paper we propose a novel method to detect the accurate noise level in general videos.
