A Consideration on a Screen Shake Detection Method with Analyses of Motion Histogram and Motion Vector Distribution

Abstract

The opportunities for viewing online video are increasing. However, visually induced motion sickness is a concern, when the viewed video contains screen shake information. The countermeasure is one of the important problem. So far, we have studied a screen shake extraction method using a motion histogram to prevent the sickness. However, there is a problem of the limit of extraction accuracy. Therefore, in this paper, we focus on improving the extraction accuracy. In the motion vector space, we propose a new screen shake extraction method using a principal component analysis and a variability analysis of mean values of motion vectors, and consider its effectiveness.
