THE STUDY OF HOUSING ENERGY PATTERNS AND CO₂ EMISSION INTENSITY BY MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

This study proposes a statistical method for estimating household CO₂ emission intensity by each municipality in Japan. First, housing energy selection patterns in major cities were analyzed using path analysis method. Second, results of the above analysis were utilized to create statistical models of energy selection pattern for various energy types. Finally, the simulation was enlarged using spatial statistics, thus allowing estimation of CO₂ emission intensity by region. Results of this study enabled calculation both of CO₂ emission intensity in each region as well as variability rate between 2000 and 2010.
