Sliding bases decrease the seismic load to structures. They make both the decrease of the maximum displacement response and the slide displacement of the structure. In this paper, sliding bases are adopted to a Japanese wooden house. Both the demand base shear and the maximum slide displacement of houses are proposed. As a result, the sliding bases with 0.2 static friction coefficient makes that no slide displacement is calculated in rare earthquakes. And the storey displacement angle of the house with 2.0 bearing wall sufficiency ratio is less than 1/120 rad in extremely rare earthquakes. Some observed earthquakes make the slide displacement over 600mm.
