In the top-down construction method, a cast-in-place concrete pile head embedded with steel column is usually distributed with reinforcing bars to prevent splitting near the bottom of the embedded section for the purpose of ensuring axial strength. However, verified experiment and analysis of previous research for calculating the amount of reinforcing bar has not been sufficient.
Based on our experiment, we clarify the relationship between the amount of reinforcing bar and compression strength and propose an evaluation formula for the amount of reinforcing bar necessary to ensure the axial strength of concrete pile.
