Abstract

In this study, the mechanical properties of screwed joints using Glued Laminated Bamboo(GLB) were investigated.

1. Joint tests were conducted for various joint configurations (Single, Double and Quadruple shear). From these tests, the skeleton curves for each configuration were obtained.

2. The bearing strength and stiffness of the Glued Laminated Bamboo were obtained by performing a bearing test using screw for timber structure.

3. European Yield Theory (EYT) was applied to the joint test to estimate the yield strength. The results showed good agreement with the experimental results, confirming the validity of the EYT in evaluating the strength performance.
