Recent earthquakes have caused damage to inserts, which connect hanging bolts for suspended equipment such as air conditioners to concrete slabs. To ensure their seismic performance, it is necessary to evaluate the strength of inserts under combined tensile and shear forces. In this study, loading tests were conducted on various types of inserts embedded in concrete slabs, considering differences in surrounding concrete geometry and loading conditions. Based on the test results, the structural behavior of inserts under combined loading was clarified, and an evaluation method for allowable strength was proposed to prevent yielding, fracture, and cone failure.
