Abstract
The main Purpose of this Paper is to obtain Statistically the adequate distribution of lateral forces worked on each story of multistory building which are designed aseismically. On the dynamic analysis of multistory buildings, the multi-mass vibratory systems are reduced, but as they have at least two elements of dynamic character such as mass and spring constant, it is usually difficult to make simple observation statistically on the dynamic responses of them. The continuous vibratory systems, like as the cantilever beams, were devised in this paper so that mass of them are uniform along the height and the lateral shearing rigidity are variant and then they have only one element of dynamic character. By this new reduced systems, the general relations among the lateral force coefficient, the story shear and the story shear coefficient were obtained firstly, and nextly, with statistic obsevation on linean responses of dynamic analysis of 21 practical examples, proposals of distribution of lateral forces for aseismic design were made.
