Abstract
In the preceeding paper of same title (part 1), the in-put loss of earthquake power, caused by horizontally restricting a phase difference of earthquake motion appeared on a ground surface, was argued with the help of several observed data. And a typical characteristic of in-put loss was also given by assuming a simple model and wave transmission. In this serial paper (part 2), the computer technique which gives a similar filter characteristic to that of in-put loss was devised, and the method of obtainning the effective in-pnt from an original ground motion by analytical meas was shown. The method was trially applied to an actual observed data, and the calculated result was proved to be very similar to the observed record. The change in response spectrum of the effective in-put was also shown in this paper. As the result of this investigation, the effect of the in-put loss can never be disregarded for a building having horizontally larger scale or comparatively shotrer natural period when the earthquake response of which is discussed.
