Abstract
As the pages are limited, this paper is separated into 3 parts. This Part 1 deals with rough estimation method of required pumping volume for the sprayed fire protection, based on the investigation research on the actual condition of high-rise buildings. The obtained results are as follows; a) The gross area (m^2) of fire protection for each building is nearly equal to one and quarter times of the gross area (m^2) of typical floor, and to ten times of the gross weight (ton) of the used steel frame. b) The required pumping volume can be estimated roughly upon the scheduling, utilizing the above relationship.
