Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to cleary define the setting condition of cement mortar by distinguish the physical cohesion of the dispersed particles and the set of the cement hydrates. For that, through the primary setting process, we measured the resistancies met by a sphere in motion in mortar under the various viblated conditon, and caluculated the dynamic characteristics. Results are as follows. 1) It can be estimated approximately the setting process of cement mortar in the dormant period by the bimolecular reaction theory. 2) According as the hydration of cement become actively, the setting process of cement mortar has been distant from the theory. We suggest the time for inital setting time of cement mortar when the dynamic characteristics distant from the theory first.
