Abstract
The architectural concrete work on inclined walls and columns in the new construction Memorial Hall of Chiba University is presented in this report. The uniqueness in the construction of this building is that most of walls and columns are built inclined 70° to horizontal, and that their finish is of architectural concrete. Authors have practiced, in the above reason, with a careful scheme especially in form and concrete works, after five tests of concrete placing. We have troubled how to be sppear honey-comb, water traces, placing joint-line and air bubbles on the surface of inclined architectural concrete walls or columns. In this report, the form work, placing tests of five times, test results of concrete materials, the mix proportion and its control in site, concrete placing methods, and a concrete finish of artitectural concrete are summarised.
