Abstract
This paper presents the rigorous elastic-plastic earthquake response analytical method considering the fluctuation of axial force on columns, which has been newly developed for the highrise reinforced concrete (R/C) frame. The new feature of the proposed method is as follows. Regarding columns, two surfaces of crack and yield are introduced on the force plane of bending moment and axial force (M-N plane) at the ends of columns and the degrading trilinear hysteresis loop proposed by Dr.MUTO is extended to the M-N plane and is formulated, against earthquake repeated loads. From the results of the simulation analyses of the structural tests on the columns with core rebars and the elastic-plastic earthquake response analysis of a 30 story R/C frame against hypothetically worst earthquake, the adequacy of this analytical method is verifed. Theforce, it is confirmed that this proposed method is very useful in the earthquake resistant design of the highrise R/C building.
