Abstract
In this study, shear failure mechanism of reinforced concrete columns is disscussed based on the experimental study and analytical study of macro models. As experimental parameters, axial loading and tie ratio are used. For analytical study, macro models of truss theory based on truss mechanism which is composed of tencil steels as a tension chord and concrete as an inclined strut are analyzed. In the analytical study, the effects of parametes of shear span ratio, axial load and tie ratio for-shear failure criteria of reinforced concrete columns are discussed. As the result of this study, rather good agreement between theoretical and experimental results is obtained.
