Abstract
Experiments were conducted on r/c slabs of types in the title, using their test models in which the ratio of slab thickness to slab band thickness and also the ratio of slab band width to slab span were systematically varied. Based on the results, a regression equation for the ultimate deflection, with the ratio of slab span to slab band thickness and the ratio of slab band width to slab span both included as variables. Experimental results verified that application of the ultimate slab deflection obtained from this formula to a theoretical yield-line equation, which takes compressive membrane forces into consideration, can provide sound estimates of the load bearing capacity.
