Abstract
The objective of this case study is to examine local people's postocupancy evaluation on playgrounds renovated in a participatory project of Kyoto City Office. By questionnaire survey and analysis of the quantification method III to 494 participants of 13 cases in the project, the following findings are clarified; (1) most of the participants have positive cognitions to renovated playgrounds in the light of physical improvement. (2) participants' attitudes to using or keeping the sites were influenced more strongly by their patterns of participation (combinations of events that they attended during the programs including construction works) than by most variables of their personal attributions.
