LITERATURE SURVEY ON PREVIOUS EARTHQUAKE DAMAGES AT THE AFFECTED AREA OF THE NORTHERN MIYAGI EARTHQUAKE OF JULY 26, 2003(Disaster)

Abstract

The Northren Miyagi Earthquake 2003 occurred at inland of Miyagi Prefecture and sever damage was concentrated in several towns around the epicenter. This area had been attacked many earthquakes during recent one hundred years. The largest one is the Off Miyagi Earthquake of 1978 and reoccurrence of it is expected in near future with high probability. In this paper, literature survey on the previous earthquakes at the affected area of the Northern Miyagi Earthquake was performed and repeated damage at the same places are indicated.
