Abstract

In order to reduce the vibration troubles from a house standing along a railway line, three methods were tried at a vacant lot (site A). Adopting the most effective method of improvement of soil for a site B close to a railway line, the following results are obtained. The amplification ratio (2F/1F) becomes small for the transverse and the vertical components. The peak ground displacement ratio (1F/GL) becomes small for the vibration level which is larger than 20×10^<-6> meter. Accordig to the 1/3 octave band analysis, input motion of radial component of which frequency is higher than 10Hz to the house decreases.
