A STUDY ON THE ESTIMATION OF HUMAN DAMAGE IN ROOMS DURING EARTHQUAKE(Disaster)

Abstract

From past earthquake disasters, the dominant cause of human damage was often the overturning of furniture. The population exposed to high hazard as the strong floor response at indoor space has increased. We propose an estimation method of the human damage based on the overturning of furniture. By using the proposal method, the human damage and the effect on the countermeasures are calculated for a model district in Sendai City. We suggest that the human damage potential is increasing in the urban.
