Abstract
Recently, post-set solar shading techniques for existing windows have been developed for reducing the air conditioning load. The optical and thermal properties of sixty-nine samples are measured according to JIS (Japan Industrial Standard) method. In addition, heat load calculations are carried out for the cases of office and house in Tokyo and Osaka.
The optimum solar shading techniques can be derived from the load reduction performance curves obtained by the numerical simulation results.
