Abstract
An optimal building design aid system which integrates CAD, various building performance simulations and optimization algorithm, is proposed in this study based on the concept of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Building information modeling is a process of generating and managing data during building life cycle. It can be used to demonstrate the entire building life cycle, including construction and facility operation. It is verified that the system can get data from CAD, run various simulations and find out pareto optimal solution automatically by a case study.
