Abstract
Shonai Earthquake of 1894 occurred in northwestern part of Yamagata Prefecture with magnitude 7.0. This earthquake is one of the biggest inland earthquakes in Japan. In the previous paper, authors surveyed reconnaissance reports, local publications and newspaper articles at that time and pointed out that damage area elongated to Akita Prefecture. In this paper, literature survey was continued focused on Akita Prefecture where less data was known. In the result, more damage information can be revealed and detailed damage distribution about houses, ground and human damage was discussed.
