Abstract
The lattice shear wall consists of the combination of square section lumbers. In this paper, authors developed the lattice shear wall which is composed of logs as columns and steel pipes as nuki. Its structural performance was estimated by mechanical model and confirmed by strength tests.
Due to the high transversal compression stiffness of the steel pipe nuki in compared to the lumber nuki, the developed shear wall showed the higher mechanical properties than the general lattice shear wall.
In addition, it was possible to make initial slackness relatively smaller without using wedges by laterally compressing steel pipes after assembly.
