Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the architectural composition and seismic performance of Yamada’s house. The house is one of traditional buildings in Arimatsu district, Nagoya city. The investigation of the house is based on the measurement survey.
Results are as follows.
1) The architectural composition and details of inside had been changed by change of building functions from 1954 to 2010. Particular features of the architectural design of Arimatsu in the Edo and the Showa period are especially realized on the house façade.
2) In the first floor, many of the walls are positioned both sides of the building in the transverse direction, and there are few in the longitudinal direction. It was found that the seismic performance in the longitudinal direction is insufficient by a spectral response analysis.
