DEVELOPMENT AND DISSEMINATION OF AN OPEN PLATFORM FOR THE ELECTRONIC MANIFEST FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Abstract

Reported in this paper is the development of an open platform for the electronic manifest and its dissemination all over the construction industry. The use of common devices such as cellular phones, internet and ASP and the user customizable system has made the industry use the electronic manifest widely instead of paper-based reporting, bringing as much as 96% improvement in efficiency and eventually making the system a remarkable de facto standard of the industry.
