Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the possibilities of rural landscape conservation by manpower outside the region. This paper reports on conservation and support activities of “Magaki” bamboo hedge as an element of Satoyama-Satoumi landscape in Noto region. These activities are composed of repairing bamboo hedge and studying local culture programme by university student group exchange with local residents. We need to develop sustainable systems for these activities through enhancing the support function for operation systems by local governance.
