Abstract
This report shows directionality of countermeasure for snow and ice in mountain huts through the research of Karasawa Hyutte. There are three buildings to stay where temporary structures called Fuyugakoi are installed in winter. By investigating three lodgings, Fuyugakoi and design drawings, the present position and technical transition were cleared and summarized in a chronological table. As a conclusion of this study, the countermeasure for snow and ice in Karasawa Hyutte changed from withstanding the external force to preventing it.
