3D-MODEL-BASED KNOWLEDGE REPRESENTATION FOR TWO-BY-FOUR CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM

Abstract

For comprehensive understanding of a two-by-four construction system, sufficient textbooks or manuals have not been published in Japan. In such a situation, a 3D-model-based representation will serve as a good reference to understand this system.
We attempt to represent a two-by-four housing system by creating a detailed 3D model generated from predefined classes. These classes can dynamically produce the shapes of each element by setting parameters.
Furthermore, we confirmed that the representation is valid and useful by outputting a scale model using a 3D printer.
