Abstract
A lot of people who lost their houses and lives by The Great East Japan Earthquake evacuated from damaged coastal city to undamaged inland city. In Iwate prefecture, there are some places where evacuees gather and enjoy conversation. The aim of this study is to clarify the actual conditions of these places and to consider the roles and the meanings. The interview survey with public sectors, operating private sectors and users was conducted in five places. We clarified that these places help the evacuees make community and give the opportunity to go out.
