Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the current situation of a dwelling composition and actual use of dwelling of Toraja people in Sulawesi Indonesia. They are still keeping a roof shape of Tongkonan especially as their identity and a traditional habit for use of Tongkonan in their current dwelling. However, some Toraja people are not using Tongkonan as main living space. Most of their current main living space is on the ground level of dwelling which is built as an annex to Tongkonan or Banua. They give priority to convenience and economy on their current dwelling.
