The 1927 Kita-tango earthquake occurred under heavy snow conditions. The authors surveyed snow effects to this earthquake disaster through newspaper articles at that time. In this paper, more considerations are carried out using photographical materials appeared in the reconnaissance reports, scientific papers, newspaper and graphical magazines. Collected photos are classified and listed. Snow effects to buildings and infrastructures, evacuation life on the snow and relief activities under snowy weather are discussed through visual materials.
