Abstract

In this study, we conducted two subject experiments using virtual environment technology to examine the effect of downlight arrangement patterns on the feeling value of ceiling height. The following findings were obtained. 1) When four downlights are placed on a rectangular ceiling surface, the ceiling height is evaluated higher when the downlights are distributed than when they are gathered in the center. 2) When comparing the color temperature of the downlights at 4000K and 3000K, there is no significant difference in the effect of the placement pattern on the feeling value of ceiling height.
