Abstract

In diversified community development, there is case to see utilization of castles as important. This study aims to clarify the actual conditions of maintaining and utilizing the castles. Their active utilization entails various cases using squares, formulating rules, and working on projects in collaboration with citizens. Approximately half of the castles, which only have stone walls and moats, do not have power supplies and water facilities. Thus, castle utilization has been completely neglected. In order to create a lively atmosphere in the castle, maintenance projects, in which not only the administrators but also citizens can participate, must be implemented.
