Abstract

While some historical sites have social value as tourism resources, for many historical sites, one of their social values is to serve as a stronghold for residents. When residents participate in various activities at historical sites and share the sense of accomplishment that comes from receiving high praise from society, such as an increase in the number of visitors or coverage in the mass media, they become attached to the site, which leads to the continuation of the activities and preservation of the site.
