Conventional metal curtain walls have used aluminum frames to support the fireproof boards of the spandrels. Since aluminum melts at about 660°C, the fireproof board may fall off in the event of a fire, causing the fire to spread to the upper floors. Therefore, we have developed a curtain wall fireproof board supported by the frame, and confirmed its fireproof performance (prevention of falling off) for 2 hours in fireproof experiments. We have also developed composite insulated steel beams and columns using these fireproof boards, and have achieved rationalization of construction.
