Abstract

CO2 emissions from building power consumption are calculated using the same CO2 emission factor throughout the year. However, with the spread of renewable energy, the actual CO2 emission factor changes from time to time, and the amount of energy consumption in buildings also fluctuates, making true evaluation difficult with conventional calculation methods. In this research, after calculating the hourly CO2 emission factor, the CO2 emissions of non-residential buildings are calculated by region and by building use. The verification revealed that the peak CO2 emissions of buildings are concentrated in the evening, not in the early afternoon.
