In recent years, strong typhoons have caused significant wind damage to low-rise buildings. The Building Research Institute installed a full-scale dynamic wind pressure loading device. This device is capable of simulating not only static or sinusoidal wind loading but also dynamic wind loading. The present paper describes the basic performance of this new device, particularly focusing on dynamic wind loading. It is expected that this device will expand the scope of testing and research for developing the wind-resistant performance of new and existing exterior materials.
