Abstract

This report examines the structure and post-construction repair of streetlights in the port city of Niigata in the Meiji Era. The height of the streetlights was about 396 cm, and the height from the ground to the bottom plate that supported the lamp was 270 cm. The lamp was supported by a carriage and had glass doors on all four sides. Post-construction repairs were carried out thoroughly, including painting the roof of lamp, smoke outlet, square pillar, etc. and repairing glass doors, pile joint and square pillar.
