The purpose of this study is to consider the effect of size and position of openings in the shell on bearing capacity and fracture geometry. By the method proposed in Reference 3),4), various optimum shell morphologies can be created simply by giving the boundary shape that supports the shell. However, they are not necessarily constructible because of their complex shape due to the simultaneous optimization of shape, thickness, and topology. Therefore, in this paper, test specimen with the same shape as the morphogenesis shell was fabricated and loading experiments were attempted. Then, comparison with the results of analysis is shown.
