Abstract

To verify the feasibility of low-rise underfloor air distribution system with a wall-mounted air conditioner, we conducted a demonstration experiment of the temperature distribution inside and outside the floor chamber using a full-scale mockup. We conducted experiments with 12 settings, including the air conditioner’s air volume, direction adjustment function, and the position of the air outlet slit. Even when the chamber was set relatively low (i.e., 145 mm inside height), hot air could reach quite far but not to either side of the air conditioner. Changing the position of the slit or installing a counter blower effectively solved that problem.
