Abstract

Seeking to suppress the damage of RC beams, structural experiments were carried out on RC beams with partially debonded longitudinal rebars in which a vertical prestress force was applied at the beam ends. The experiments showed that RC beams in which longitudinal rebars were partially debonded and prestress force was applied to the beam ends exhibited less damage at the beam ends and in debonded zones compared to conventional RC beam specimen. In addition, we confirmed that partial debonding longitudinal rebars significantly reduce repair material used, thereby reparability of RC beams could be improved.
