Abstract

In the half-pre-cast column, the conjunction with the joint surface between the pre-cast and post-cast sections should be needed, and it is consequence to grasp the mechanical characteristics of the joint surface. We developed an alternative process using the form sheet, tests and FE analysis were conducted on the mechanical characteristics of concrete joint surfaces. Our developed construction method showed good enough integrity of the joint surfaces. The shear force was assumed to be transmitted at the joint surfaces by cohesion, coulomb friction, and shear resistance of roughness. Modeling method was proposed to evaluate the shear transmission mechanism.
